Thanksgiving Weekend

Wednesday night, Amanda and I went to Orion to meet up with my aunt Cherie, my uncle Scott, and I thought my aunt Mindy and my uncle Dan. We were all going to go to this bar in Orion called Stooge’s to see this 80’s cover band named Thrill Ville. Well Mindy and Dan had to stay in due to Riley, their daughter, not going to sleep early enough, so Cherie, Scott, Amanda, and I went. At first it was pretty dead and boring in there, but with all boring things, just add alcohol and people and you will have a good time. Amanda and Cherie sat and talked for a while, then the drinking began. After about an hour or so, every one was pretty drunk, Cherie was doing the fuck you dance, and there was this annihilated woman crawling around on the floor tight rolling everyone’s jeans against their will. About an hour of drinks for that woman later, the band started playing Sunglasses at Night and this woman was frantically searching for sunglasses to slam on her stupid drunk face. Alas, no sunglasses were to be found. There was, however, some toilet paper on the ground near the dance floor that she tried to form into sunglasses, no dice. I got a few awesome pictures of the keyboardist, but in this pic, you can tell he was on to us laughing at him. I tried to get a picture of Scott and Cherie, but Cherie was too drunk, and Scott wouldn’t have it. One of Cherie’s friends, a stripper, received a band shirt from the bartender. If you know Cherie, when she’s drunk, and you got it for free, she wants one. Amanda went up to try and get one for her, and she was talking to the guy behind the bar about the shirt when the real bartender came up and yelled at the guy to get the hell out from behind the bar. She finally tracked down a bar shirt and took it to Cherie. Cherie then whined that it wasn’t a band shirt, so I now have a Stooge’s Bar shirt. I am wearing it here whilst throwing Nayte into the ceiling. When I got home Thanksgiving morning, it looked like Xiggz was a little tore up that night too due to his parking job. Thanksgiving went off without a hitch as usual and we ended up at my parent’s house for the last stint of it. Dad did a lot of talking with his hands, and I accidentally made my cousin Alec cry due to a graphic story about a dead baby from the past residents of my parent’s house, spending a few days in Bri’s room. I also had to prove to Mindy that “Orbs” in photos are not ghosts, and that anyone can create them. Check out all the “ghosts” I captured. On Friday, Matt, Brent and I started work on the system in the Honda. Generally, these projects have a couple hang ups, but I have not had to deal with anything like this before. I need a 3 cubic foot box for my sub. That’s a big box. The one Andy speced out was way off, so I had to run all the numbers again to figure out what size we needed. As it turned out, we couldn’t build your typical box to fit in my spare tire well to fit a flush mount. Not cool. Matt had an idea and gave me some new measurements to figure out volume. He gave me the inside dimensions of the spare well, and we built a box around that. Basically 80% of my sub box is the steel from my car, and the top is 3/4“ MDF board. We had to Liquid Nails every hole that was exposed in the spare well, and seal the lid to the steel. After it was all said and done, we used about 8.5 caulking gun tubes of Liquid Nails, and what install would be complete without some Matt-ass hangin’ out? After we sealed and smoothed it out, it needed to set up. It is still setting up. But so far, so good, and I am going to end up with a very custom job, with a lot of trunk space left. We have about 5-6 more hours worth of work left, but it will be well worth it when it is all finished.

Broox’s Wedding

Saturday was awesome. The wedding was awesome, the ride to the reception was awesome, and the reception was awesome. I have not had that much fun in awhile. I don’t have pictures of the actual ceremony, but when Derek and Kari get back from St. Lucia, he will send me a bunch. So the wedding was short, which is always a plus. Derek and Kari had the wedding party, and a few of there friends who were not in the party ride with them in the H2 Limo to the reception after pictures. That was fun, but a little crowded. No big deal though, there was plenty of champagne and beer to drink on the way. Upon arrival of the reception, Jeff, Kari’s dad, gave a speech. Then Kari and her father had their dance. After all the typical reception business was over, it just became a party for the masses. Open bar, meant open bar. Not just free beer in a keg, bottles of beer and well drinks for all who came. Everybody had a great time. Derek and Kari had their own table overlooking the dance floor, Kari seemed to like this. After diner, the band started playing and it was on from there. They even had a guy playing the infamous cowbell. Everyone danced, danced, danced. Harper and Kari took over the floor for a while, but order was soon restored when Dick and Nan showed them who was, indeed, boss. Oh yeah, Turbo puked in the sink. Thanks to Josh for the heads up on that. No one actually saw him throw up in the sink, but COME ON! Who cleans up puke that isn’t their’s?

Mr. Regis Pilon (1990-2005)

Regis Pilon

Regis Pilon, age 15, of Port Byron, died Wednesday, October 5, 2005 around 3:00 p.m. at the vet’s office.
He was born in April of 1990.
He is survived by his best friend Mitch; and his caretakers, Nancy and Dick Day.

He will be missed.

Bike Wreck ‘05

So, I finally ate shit on my bike yesterday. Suck. Aside from a few bruises and cuts, I am Fine. The bike, like me, is also in awesome shape for what it went through. The old guy’s yard, however, is a little worse for wear. Here is what happened. I was hanging out around the house with Amanda, Lindsay, and Rankin watching football in the garage. I had a headache, and I was feeling a little dizzy too. I decided that a quick ride with the fresh air would be good for me. For about ten minutes, it was. Then it wasn’t. I hit about three staggered dips that sent my front tire wobbling violently. I knew that I had a choice at that point; crash in the road, or crash in the grass. Pretty easy decision I thought, now where do I go in? I had about 3 seconds to decide this so I hopped into a ditch on the left. After about thirty feet, the back tire kicked out and at that point I had to lay it down in a “controlled slide.” This happened here. I rolled off it right after that and basically slid between the poles and the bike. I was roughly a foot from serious injury. The whole time all I could think about were those poles and how bad I was gonna get fucked up by them. When I finally stopped, I was quite shaken and totally out of it. I just paced around for a few minutes before I could even think straight. As soon as I had my shit together, I called Amanda who was at my house with Sean and Lindsay, and told her to come down the road to where I was at. I didn’t tell her what happened, but apparently she was freaking out because of it. That was exactly what I was trying not to do by not telling her what happened. She made Sean and Lindsay come with her so she didn’t have to come up on me all fucked up in a ditch, by herself. Turns out all I fucked up were a pair of shorts and my handlebars. I’m glad she came as soon as she did, cause I was way out of it. When I was done shaking, I drove the bike home and picked up my camera to get some pics of the wreck site. The old guy didn’t even come out of his house until we were back. Apparently Amanda yelled at him as I drove off on the bike because of it. She saw him in the window and yelled something. I don’t remember what, I didn’t even think about him. After we got back I hopped in the shower. After I took a shower, we went down to Duey’s to drink and play pool with Greg and Lisa, errr…Lisa. We all proceeded to get dunk, especially Lindsay, really, really, drunk. So I guess I will take getting drunk at Duey’s with my friends, over being broken and possibly dead in the emergency room. Sorry mom.

Mad-Towne 4 Life

Friday night, Rankin and I drove up to Madison to see Mitchell. We got up there around 9:30-10, and immediately went downtown to indulge ourselves with massive amounts of alcohol. We met up with a couple of Mitch’s friends, Matt and Sarah, and basically did shots and drank beer all night. Come closing time we parted ways with Mitch’s friends and started towards the car. Mitch ran into another acquaintance on the way to the car. His name is Wade, and he had a place just up the street. We all decided to go there and have more to drink, apparently we didn’t have enough at the bar. That proved to be untrue. As we were walking to Wade’s, Mitch was about twenty feet in front of Rankin and I. Mitch passed by these two black fellas, and one was wearing a Raiders jersey, number 34. In typical drunk Mitch fashion, he says, “How come it doesn’t say Woodson?” Mitch failed to realize that Charles Woodson was #24, and that guy was wearing a Bo Jackson jersey from 87. Well after Mitch said that he just kept walking. The two guys then passed us and “Mr. Jackson” was saying something back to Mitch. I think he was already out of earshot, but not out of ours. Rankin stops and the two are across the street now. Rankin then proceeds to tell those two to “Shut your fucking mouths and keep walking.” My attention was now on Rankin. “Mr. Jackson,” crosses the street, and gets in Rankin’s face. Shit, here we go again. I can’t have some asshole steal on one of my friends. So I came up and pushed his ass into the street to get him away from Rankin. I look at his friend, and he’s running at Rankin. I stepped in front of him and picked him up while 34 was by Rankin. I slammed his friend down on the street, and as soon as it started, it was over. They both kinda walked away. We then met back up with Mitch at Wade’s and told him what happened. As it turns out, Rankin took a couple shots to the face and gave some back. I had no idea that even happened. I thought nothing really happened, especially a fight between those two. I pushed dude, and he hits Rankin, what a bitch. It was about then in the story that I realized my necklace was gone. We went back down to the corner, and there it was on the ground, sweet. That about wraps up Friday night. Saturday, shit, my head was bangin. Way, way ,way too much to drink. We kinda stayed around the loft till I felt up to going out again. We went back downtown around 12:30-1, and had lunch at this Brewery called Angelic. The food was good, the staff sucked. After fiood ad advil, I felt 100% better. That night we met up with Mitch’s friend Jenny at the Union Terrace. There was some outdoor music event going on down there. The crowd was clearly into it. We were having fun though. On the way home from that, Mitch had to have a picture in front of the “Yummy Buffet.” We all went back to Jenny’s for a few minutes the went to a pizza place next door to her place around 2ish. After that she went home, we went to Mitch’s and called iit a night. Rankin and I got up and out of Madison by 10:30 Sunday morning. So there you go, I have not added much in awhile but that was a more detailed event.
